During your full family schedules, particularly when you home educate, I encourage you to take a few moments to consider family milestones.
What is the first thing that you think about? Is it the birthdays? Or maybe how tall the children are growing as you mark their heights on the door jam. Yes, these are milestones, but may I suggest a few more. You have a child who has just learned to read. Celebrate it. You have gotten through the week (or a day) without a struggle with doing a particular lesson. Celebrate it. Or maybe it was a struggle, but she worked hard and accomplished the task. Take the time and effort to celebrate it. The celebration could be a simple bike ride together after dinner. You know what will delight your child. Have fun. Smile. Laugh out loud and declare, "Well done, I am proud of you!"
