SCF Stay and Complete Scholarship

According to an article published in Bradenton, FL on May 4, 2017, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has created the SCF Dual Enrolled “Stay and Complete” Scholarship to allow dual enrolled students to complete their Associate in Arts degrees at SCF.
SCF offers dual enrollment to qualified high school students in Manatee and Sarasota counties free of charge. The credits students earn count toward a college degree and high school diploma.

To help qualified students complete their first two years of college debt free, SCF is offering the “Stay and Complete” scholarship for students enrolled during the 2016-17 academic year who have a 3.25 grade point average and have fewer than 24 credits to complete a degree at SCF.

There is no news as to whether this scholarship will be available next year to 2017-18 graduates.

The deadline for application for the 2016-17 graduates was June 1, 2107.

Applying for and meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee that the applicant will receive the scholarship. That is decided by an SCF director at their digression with the family’s EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) taken into account.

This scholarship is a reimbursement only, meaning, the full amount of tuition will have to be payed up front and the recipient will be reimbursed upon graduating.
